The Experience
Your session begins with an introduction to copper, where you'll start by learning the essential skills of forming and sizing a ring or bangle. First, we’ll discuss techniques for accurately measuring and shaping your piece to ensure it fits perfectly. You’ll then dive into soldering, a fundamental skill in jewellery-making that will help secure the shape of your design. You will watch a demonstration texturing techniques that allow you to add depth and personality to your work, including stamping, which can create unique patterns and imprints on the metal.
Once you’ve had the opportunity to explore your creativity with copper and refine your design, you will then move to the next stage: crafting in sterling silver. Here, you’ll apply the skills you’ve practised to create a final, polished ring or bangle with a professional finish. Working with silver will give your piece a timeless elegance and durability, turning your design into a cherished accessory.
At the end of the session, you’ll leave with two distinct pieces: a copper ring or bangle showcasing your initial experimentation and a finished silver piece reflecting your refined skills. This hands-on experience offers a comprehensive introduction to jewellery-making, providing you with lasting pieces that symbolise both your creative journey and the techniques you've learned.
