The Experience
This is your chance to actually take to the sky as a pilot like you've always dreamt of in this Helicopter Flight lesson! You'll begin with a pre-flight briefing by a seasoned veteran instructor. After recieving guidance you will take control of the R44, taking flight into to the sky and getting a chance to pilot the helicopter as you navigate the sky. This Helicopter Flight Lesson is a great first step on the path of becoming a qualified pilot and is an experience you'll never forget.
Your Helicopter Flight Lesson includes:
15 minute flight where you will have control of the Helicopter
A pre-flight briefing by an experienced instructor
You’ll learn in a Robinson R44 Helicopter - Based on its little brother the R22, the four-seater R44 is a two bladed, single engine, light utility and training helicopter
Shown briefly how the major aircraft control and power systems work
Start-up and shut down procedures
Opportunity to handle the controls and fly the helicopter yourself
Certificate awarded upon landing and time flown can be logged
Personalised photographs and In-flight recording can be purchased on the day.
A full post-flight debrief where all your questions will be answered
Vital Information
For health and safety reasons, you must be able to speak and understand English.
The maximum weight limit per person is 20 stone (127kg) and maximum Pilot Height is 7' / 213cm. Minimum Pilot Age is 10 years (adult supervision required for under 16s on airfield premises) Minimum Height 4’6” / 140cm. You will be given a start time. We respectively request you arrive 15 minutes before your start time. In the event of delay, failure to arrive within 30 minutes of this time will invalidate your voucher as we will be unable to fly you!) Lesson flight times may vary and are only approximate. Flights at the weekend are subject to restrictions.
Please ensure you have not consumed any alcohol for at least 24 hours before your lesson. If we suspect you have, then we reserve the right to refuse you on board the aircraft. Pre-bookings are required and subject to availability. We require a notice period of 7 days for rescheduling, or vouchers will be considered used.
Due to health and safety reasons you are required to be able to get in and out of the helicopter unaided.
The Weather
We reserve the right to postpone any lesson in the event of poor weather, Air Traffic restrictions, and circumstances beyond their control or other safety related issue.
Session Length
Your Helicopter Flight Lesson will last 30 minutes. This includes 15 minutes Flight Time.
Numbers
This experience is for one person. Can allow 2 people as passengers.
Spectators
It is lovely to bring a friend or family member to support you, but can we please ask that you limit it to no more than 4 people without our prior knowledge. There is an on site cafe where they can purchase snacks.
What To Wear
Comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear (i.e. no flip flops or high heels!). Please keep in mind that the inside the cockpit can become very warm. Feel free to bring your sunglasses and to wear something colourful for your video & photographs!
