The Experience
On your arrival at the gate, Alnwick Castle stewards will be waiting to greet you and direct you around the Castle site.
Once inside the grounds, take a guided tour and learn about the history of Alnwick Castle or its use as a filming location, have a go at archery and test your abilities with a bow, or learn to fly a broomstick in the spot where Harry Potter first took flight where you will join our resident wizarding professors and take part in one of our famous Broomstick Training sessions, on the very spot where Harry had his first flying lesson in the film production of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
With our eccentric professor’s expert guidance, you shall be taught the basics of mastering a broomstick. Practice your mount and dismount before learning to curve and manoeuvre across the lawns of Alnwick Castle, more affectionately known as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, at great speeds!
Visit The Palatial Interiors of the State Rooms which are within the imposing castle keep, you will see how they are decorated in the finest styles of the Italian Renaissance. Below beautifully carved, painted, and gilded ceilings hang silk wall coverings and an outstanding collection of Old Master paintings. Home of the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland, the rooms are filled with treasures and stories from Alnwick Castle’s history.
You will also find one of our friendly guides in each of the State Rooms, there to answer questions about the castle.
