The Experience
You depart early morning from Dublin heading North. We will have a comfort break on the way and then head into the Northern Irish countryside.
Firstly we visit and cross Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge which connects a 23m-deep and 20m-wide chasm between the mainland and a small island that has been used over the years by fishermen to place netting to capture migrating salmon. Following a 20 minute scenic cliff walk, you can traverse the bridge to the island with its abundance of birdlife, and to enjoy the spectacular coastal views from a different vantage point.
After lunch it is time for The Giants Causeway which is the highlight of the trip . This UNESCO World Heritage site consists of a series of over 40,000 hexagonal shaped rocks that looks like a grand set of stairs leading into the sea, the formation of which has been astounding generations. These awe-inspiring stones have resulted in inspiring many a myth and stories surrounding their origin, some of which your guide will just to be happy tell you in full technicolour!
After the amazing Giants Causeway we visit the vibrant and modern city of Belfast. After decades of conflict, the city is a wonder to walk around and take time in to spend shopping. You can also take the option to do the political taxi tour by a local guide (price not included) which will take you through both republican and loyalist areas of Belfast explaining how the troubles began.
Finally, you will arrive back in Dublin at around dinner time to reminisce about your northern adventure.
ITINERARY :
6:30 AM: DEPART DUBLIN
Meet your guide and fellow travelers for the day tour at the Molly Malone Statue on Suffolk Street. Board our comfortable bus and head North out of the City. Enjoy the drive to Northern Ireland with your guide providing entertainment and knowledge in equal measure.
10.45 AM: DARK HEDGES (INSTEAD OF THE ATTRACTION CARRICK A ROPE)
Dark Hedges, home to an elegant avenue of beech trees, are an unforgettable attraction and photographer's delight. As seen on Game of Thrones as Kings Road, visitors will feel transported into another realm as they stroll beneath arching trees that form natural tunnels - truly marveling at nature's magnificent beauty. Situated just 30 minutes away from Giants Causeway for easy day tours; be sure to bring along your camera so as to capture this unforgettable experience at Dark Hedges!
12:15 PM: GIANT’S CAUSEWAY
On our journey, there will be breathtaking views over Whiteparks Bay and Portbradden. Before venturing onto the legendary Causeway we will stop for lunch (not included). This striking natural marvel was formed over 60 million years ago through volcanic activity, consisting of approximately 40,000 hexagonal basalt columns arranged hexagonally that stand proudly against its background of Atlantic Ocean cliffs and stunning ocean views. Take time out from your day for a scenic walk along these breathtaking cliffs - it's truly remarkable. Take in the beauty of Giant's Boot and Chimney Stacks and learn about Finn McCool legends as you walk along their stunning natural features, then head uphill for breathtaking panoramic views before returning back down towards "Organ". 4:00 PM: BELFAST CITY
On to the capital of Northern Ireland, Belfast, with its many fantastic landmarks, You can take free time to explore the city center including city hall, the opera house, and the Crown pub, or take the opportunity to do a political taxi tour of West Belfast where you will visit the peace wall and many of the hot spots associated with the troubles in Northern Ireland. This taxi tour is highly recommended; the price is £15pp (Pounds Sterling).
8:00 PM: ARRIVE BACK IN DUBLIN
We will arrive back in Dublin filled with stories, memorable experiences, and stunning photos to share.
